Se me seguem no instagram - @joandcompany - provavelmente já se aperceberam da história por trás destes perfumes! Mas vou contar-vos tudo melhor aqui!!
Durante as férias no Algarve aproveitamos sempre um ou dois dias para passear por algum lugar novo. Como já conhecemos a Costa Algarvia praticamente toda, este ano decidimos visitar Sevilha. Nunca lá tinha estado antes! Fomos de carro, e numa hora e pouco estávamos mergulhados num calor imenso. Não que estivesse frio no Algarve, nada disso, mas Sevilha é seguramente mais caliente! Optamos por comprar passe para o autocarro turístico e conhecer todos os pontos de interesse da cidade. Pessoalmente é assim que mais gosto de fazer quando vou a um lugar novo sem ninguém que o conheça, é a maneira mais fácil para não escapar nada. E foi a melhor opção, porque andar a pé debaixo daquele sol ia ser tortura. Enquanto isso íamos passando pelos vários painéis informativos nas ruas, e os termómetros chegaram a marcar 45º. Saímos do autocarro pontualmente para visitar este ou aquele lugar, sempre com a bela da garrafa de água atrás. Acho que durante o tempo que estive por lá bebi uns 2,5 litros de água… Isto para vos dizer que, mesmo estando nós prevenidos, a água esgotou-se e tivemos de ir a um supermercado abastecer! E pronto, entramos pelo Mercadona dentro, quase desidratados (estou a exagerar) para comprar água. No caminho para a caixa passamos pela secção de beleza, nós nem queríamos, fomos só pela água, mas os preços eram mesmo convidativos em comparação com aquilo que vemos por aqui! Cheirei os perfumes de mulher todos! Estava muito calor lá fora e no Mercadona o ar condicionado era apetecível também… Queria trazer um de cada comigo mas controlei-me. Fiquei-me por dois perfumes, um creme de mãos e um pack de perfume, after shave, desodorizante e gel de banho para o meu namorado. Se vos disser que em tudo isto gastei pouco mais de 30€ acreditam? É verdade, os preços eram mesmo apetecíveis!! Toda a família comprou coisas ali! Garanto-vos que estes cheirinhos são deliciosos, só não sei se os encontrarão por cá, pelo menos eu nunca vi. Por isso, se forem para os lados de nuestros hermanos estejam atentos, asseguro-vos que vale a pena!!

During the holidays in Algarve we always take a day or two to stroll around somewhere new. As we already know practically all the Algarve Coast, this year we decided to visit Seville. Never been there before! We went by car, and in an hour and a little we were immersed in immense heat. Not that it was cold in the Algarve, none of it, but Seville is surely warmer! We chose to buy a pass for the tourist bus to know all the interest points of the city. Personally, that's the way I like to do when I go to a new place without anyone who knows it, it's the easiest way to not escape anything. And it was the best option, because walking under that sun was going to be torture. Meanwhile we were passing through the various information panels in the streets, the thermometers got to mark 45º. We leave the bus some times to visit this or that place, always with the beautiful water bottle behind. I think that during the time I was there I drank about 2.5 liters of water... This to tell you that even though we were warned, the water ended and we had to go to a supermarket to stock! And so we enter the Mercadona inside, almost dehydrated (I'm exaggerating) to buy water. On the way to the payment box we went through the beauty section, we didn't even want it, we went only for the water, but the prices were even inviting compared to what we see around here! I smelt all woman's scents! It was very hot outside and the air conditioning in Mercadona was desirable too... I wanted to bring one of each with me but I controlled myself. I stayed for two perfumes, a hand cream and a pack of perfume, after shave, deodorant and shower gel for my boyfriend. If I tell you that in all this I spent little more than 30€ do you believe? True, the prices were really appetizing!! The whole family bought things there! I assure you that these scents are delicious, I just don't know if you can find them here, at least I've never seen them. So, if you go to the sides of our brothers, stay tuned, I assure you that it's worth it!!

White sunset

Sim, eu sei que o Verão acabou, mas na verdade nem tem feito assim tanto frio, e este look, que usei no sunset da Ergovisão da Avanida dos Aliados, podia muito bem ter sido usado ainda hoje.
O dress code pedia branco, e eu lembrei-me logo desta camisa, e claro, de roubar de novo os chinelos à minha mãe!
Comprei esta camisa nos saldos. Nem tinha reparado nela no site, mas eu sou mega fã de camisas brancas. Sei que nem sempre aparecem por aqui, mas uso mesmo muito, afinal são um básico. E todas as que tenho são bem diferentes umas das outras. Procuro sempre algum detalhe que as distinga, neste caso são os folhos na parte de trás. Não tinha nada semelhante no armário, sei que não é a peça mais fácil de conjugar, mas eu vou tentar usa-la de formar diferente e vou mostra aqui! Gostam?

Yes, I know that summer is over, but it's not really cold yet, and this look, which I used on the sunset of the Ergovisão from Avanida dos Aliados, might well have been used today.
The dress code was white, and I remembered to wear this shirt instantainly, of course, and I also remembered to steal my mother's slippers again!
I bought this shirt in the sales season. I had not even noticed her on the site, but I'm a big fan of white shirts. I know they don't always show up here, but I use them a lot, after all they are a basics. And all I have are very different from each other. I always look for some detail that distinguishes them, in this case are the ruffles in the back. There was nothing similar in the closet, I know it's not the easiest piece to put together, but I'll try to use it differently and I'll show it here! Do you like?

Pensavam que ia passar o mês de Setembro sem o post da rúbrica “Jo’s Co”? Naaaaaa, eu não me esqueci! A verdade é que Setembro é sempre um mês de recomeços, e enquanto voltamos a reorganizar toda a nossa rotina com novas metas e prioridades, o tempo parece que voa… E a Companhia que vos trago hoje não podia ilustrar de melhor maneira o que acabei de referir acima! (refiro-me às metas e prioridades…)
Conheço a Rita desde sempre! É daquelas pessoas que não o sendo na verdade, é como se fosse da família! E sabem quando há pessoas que têm um sonho e não desistem dele? Essas pessoas são como a Rita!! Ela sempre quis fazer voluntariado, e há uns meses, quando ouvi este programa do Maluco Beleza lembrei-me logo da Rita. (e confesso que fiquei com medo que também ela não quisesse voltar!) Se a conhecessem como conheço saberiam também que este sonho acabaria por se tornar realidade! Em Julho embarcou naquela que provavelmente será a maior aventura da sua vida! Deixou o trabalho em stand-by e partiu rumo a Angola para um mês e meio de voluntariado. Ela foi, chegou com a certeza de querer voltar, com a mala vazia mas em contrapartida cheia de tantas outras coisas! É incrível como há experiências que nos mudam, e essencialmente mudam a forma como encaramos o mundo à nossa volta. Tenho para mim que a Rita recebeu muito mais do que aquilo que deu ali, a tantos quilómetros de distância de casa! E que bom é ter pessoas inspiradoras junto de nós! Rita, gostamos muito de ti!!!!

Did you think that it would be the month of September without the post of the rubric "Jo's Co"? Noooooo, I haven't forgotten! The truth is that September is always a month of resumption, and as we re-organize our whole routine with new goals and priorities, time seems to fly... And the Company that I bring you today couldn't better illustrate what I just refer above! (I'm referring to the goals and priorities...)
I've known Rita since ever! It's those people who are not actually family, but it's like it is! And do you know when there are people who have a dream and don't give up on it? These people are like Rita!! She always wanted to do volunteer work, and a few months ago, when I heard this program, I was reminded of Rita. (and I confess that I was afraid that she didn't want to come back too!) If you knew her as I do, you would know that this dream would finally come true! In July he embarked on what will probably be the greatest adventure of his life! He left the job in stand-by and left for Angola for a month and a half of volunteering. She went, arrived with the certainty of wanting to return, with the empty bag but in counterpart full of so many other things! It's amazing how there are experiences that change us, and they essentially change the way we view the world around us. I have for myself that Rita received much more than what she gave there, so many miles away from home! And it's good to have inspiring people next to us! Rita, we really like you!!!!

Paper bag

Espero bem que as paper bag pants continuem a ser tendência nas próximas estações, pelo menos que continuem a pairar pelas lojas. Adoro estas em bege, que apesar de terem saído de uma colecção de outono/inverno, ficam igualmente bem em looks de verão também! Como têm a cintura bem subida adoro usa-las assim, com t-shirts ou camisas caçadas! Por isso é bem provável que voltem a vê-las por aqui em looks no próximo outono. Por enquanto, sempre que os dias ainda forem amenos, gosto de usa-las assim, com sandálias, ou melhor, com estes chinelos que “roubei” à minha mãe. Confesso que não achava esta tendência dos chinelos muito apelativa, mas quando calcei estes que a minha mãe comprou não podia ter ficado mais arrependida de não ter procurado um modelito parecido para mim nos saldos. Isto é tão confortável, a sério! Não estivesse o verão a acabar e íamos ter aqui um caso sério de amor…

I hope this paper bag pants continue to be a trend in the coming seasons, at least hope  they continue to hover around the shops. I love these beige ones, which although have come out of a fall/winter collection, look equally great in summer looks too! As they have a well-raised waist I love wearing them like that, with t-shirts or hunted shirts! So it's very likely that you can see them again here in some of my looks next fall. For now, whenever the days are still hot, I like to wear them like that with sandals, or rather, with these slippers that I "stole" from my mom. I confess I don't find this trend of slippers very appealing, but when I fit the ones my mother bought, I couldn't have been more sorry that I had not looked for a similar pair of this shoes for me in the sales season. This is so comfortable, seriously! If the summer is not endding now, we were going to have a serious case of love here...

Corset

De todas as tendências que surgiram na última estação, esta dos espartilhos é a minha preferida. Pelo menos a avaliar pelas peças que comprei com estes ilhoses e fitas! Foram três. A camisola do último post, umas calças de algodão bege e este vestido. Não foi a compra mais barata dos saldos, mas estava a precisar de um vestidinho assim de algodão para usar na praia! E branco, hummmm, mesmo a calhar!! Não sei quanto a vós, mas eu gosto imenso de roupa branca no verão. Bem sei que é super cliché mas acho mesmo bonito. Então se já tiver a pele bronzeada melhor ainda! No dia de regresso das férias voltei a usar este vestido, podem ver aqui. E verão é bem isto, looks descontraídos mas compostos e sempre, mas sempre super confortáveis!
Ps.: Verão, podes ficar mais uns dias, eu cá não me importo nada!! Enquanto isso este queridinho dava mais umas voltas por aí!

Of all the trends that have emerged in the last season, this one of the corsets is my favorite. At least evaluate for the pieces I bought with these eyelets and ribbons! There were three of them. The t-shirt from the last post, a pair of beige cotton pants and this dress. It wasn't the cheapest purchase of the sales, but I was in need of a cotton dress to wear on the beach! And white, hummmm, even in handy!! I don't know about you, but I really like white clothes in the summer. I know it's super cliche but I think it's really cute. So if you already have tanned skin better yet! On the day of the return of the holidays I returned to wear this dress, you can see here. And summer is really this, relaxed outfits but composed and always, but always super comfortable!
Ps .: Summer, you can stay a few more days, I don't care at all !! In the meantime, this little darling could have some more rounds!

First Drive: Sans TDI, VW's U.S.-Made 2016 Passat Has To Find A Way To Stand Out

The snow covering the 2016 Volkswagen Passat parked in front the Vermont hotel was a fitting reminder of the winter of VW’s discontent.

Never mind for a moment the diesel doldrums the company is currently embroiled in, Volkswagen was already on thin ice in the States.
Just as its bread-and-butter Jetta and Passat models were Americanized in hopes of better sales through lower prices, rivals suddenly paid attention to their German counterparts and made cars that were decidedly upmarket. The Ford Fusion is basically more German than the Passat Americans get. And after initially strong sales, the Tennessee-built Passat has languished.

While the looks have only just changed for 2016, the Passat has been consistently refined since it went on sale four years ago. In the face of a host of new or revised rivals – and with its unique selling point in the class, the TDI, currently out of the game – does the power of German engineering finally shine through to elevate America's Passat?

It’s so quiet over at Hyundai and their 2016MY Azera and Genesis sedans that you can almost hear the crickets chirping. This is going be a short one, so let’s go straight ahead and list the changes on both cars.

The Azera continues to be offered in two trim levels, both powered by a 293hp 3.3-liter V6, with the more expensive Limited adding Smart Cruise Control with Stop/Start capability and an Electronic Parking Brake as standard equipment for 2016. The only thing that changes on the base model for this year is a $100 increase in MSRP at $34,100.

Moving on to the Genesis, all models now come equipped with standard HID headlights and LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), with Hyundai also making LED fog lights available on the 311hp 3.8-liter V6 variant, the price of which was hiked by $750 to $38,750 for the RWD version.

As for the top-of-the-line, RWD-only, 420hp 5.0-liter V8 Genesis, it will cost you an extra $2,350 for the 2016MY at $53,850, but it more than makes up for that increase with the inclusion of the previously optional, $3,250 Ultimate Package that adds the following features:

- Continuous Damping Control suspension
- Heads-up display
- Premium DIS Navigation with 9.2-inch HD Display
- Lexicon 17-speaker Discrete Logic 7 surround audio
- Power Trunk Lid
- Dual mode Vent Control HVAC and CO2 sensor

Keep in mind, all MSRPs listed here for the Azera and Genesis exclude delivery and handling fees. Both 2016MY sedans will go on sale at Hyundai’s dealers in the States in November.
